A beautiful area

..Quebec, a town of lakes and hills,
visit, it'll cure your ill,
who doesn't like a drive with a view,
why, I'd do it today - if I were you!

There is plenty of timber, and a railroad too,
all put together in a town with a view,
so, come to Quebec, see what's in store,
and speak French, act like you've been there before.

...a park full of lakes and water,
large and small like mother and daughter,
for people who enjoy a kayak or canoe,
and hiking for people who travel by shoe.

A great spot for that weekend away,
paddling around on a baie,
or camping in some secluded spot,
then you should mark you map with a dot.

...Quebec, since I don't speak French,
I won't dig myself too big a trench;
by saying there are a lot of woods,
and an Observatory to see the goods.

Scenery is plentiful, if that's what you want,
you can see a good distance, maybe your old haunt;
and I'll be showing you a quick way down,
just in case you're in a hurry to get back to town.

...Quebec, located between Montreal and Maine,
one of a few with an English name,
ninety-four percent of people speak only French in this town,
but you can still get around, there's no need to frown.

A zoo that is widely known and respected, right here,
with Lions and Tigers and a Grizzly Bear;
they have sharp teeth and big long claws,
don't go into the cage, there is reason to pause.

...Quebec, one more day at the beautiful place,
I think about the trails, and my heart starts to race.
Should I attempt to climb those rocks,
or do I enjoy life and obey the clocks?

I think I'll stay grounded for the time being,
besides, there's a lot here that needs more seeing.
This is our last day here in Quebec,
the road leads west, and we'll go and not wreck

...Quebec, Canada's oldest National Park...
6 rivers and 400 lakes and streams, go for a lark;
hiking trails and camping, or climbing too, but not in the rain,
they even have a machine to make wheel chairs all terrain.

Oh the wonders you will see, every season of the year,
40 mammal species, is that a wolf I hear?  (yes they're here too)
canoe or kayak while fishing on a lake,
I think I'd like it there, what's you take?

...Just west of Quebec City, there's a jewel in the air,
this beautiful park, if can't get here, that's not fair;
ski slopes are few, but the trails lead in and out,
you'll feel the joy, and you will want to shout.

We keep going to these places, anywhere we can get,
probably this trip will last - longer with every place we hit;
so much to see, there's never enough time,
just get behind the wheel and yell. Mine, baby, mine!

From the air..

...Quebec, a lively place, and very old,
on the St. Lawrence river, and winter is cold;
it's the capitol of french speaking Quebec,
'course we don't know any, but what the heck.

Just a brief layover, we'll be on our way,
there are more parks and places to play;
we like those better, there's nature to see,
but, just for today, what will be, will be.

...Quebec, back for one more day,
at some places we can't leave, so we stay;
the marine life here is special and the water is clear,
even see whales from the surface, if they happen to be near.

And the scenery is just fantastic too,
and there's so much to see and do;
so a couple of more 'crack' photo shots,
you'll be convinced you need to be here, lots.

Saguenay-St. Lawrence Marine Park...

Saguenay Light

...Quebec, a National Park for the ecosystem of the Gulf of St. Lawrence,
there is a lot to see and a lot to do, unless it's raining torrents;
there are whales, and dozens of snails, salmon and other fish too,
but it's the itty-bitty things that we can't see, they study and you can too.

The Saguenay Fjord, all of it this time,
and the St. Lawrence River make this place fine,
when they come together it's a mix of salt and fresh,
and lots and lots of critters that swim, walk or mesh.

...Quebec, a tourist destination that's quite small,
people come here to watch the whales, and that may be all,
but that may be only if they don't take a look around,
at the beauty nature has for them truly does abound.

There are fjord's around this great gulf here,
and the Saguenay Fjord will make you cheer,
there are trails to hike, and some to bike too,
this has whales and a lot more, it's waiting for you.

Parc Nature de Pointe-aux-Outardes....

An easier trail, very nice, through the sand dunes.

Quebec, oh the wonder of it all,
you must go, and have a ball,
we've seen so many boardwalk trails,
they've paved Canada with board, and not with rails. (not true)

Try a place like this, you won't want to go home,
so much beauty, so little time, it cuts right to the bone.
But while we're here enjoy the sights and be watchful too,
you never know what will be next, to bring joy to you.

Using a trail in winter

 ...Quebec, another terrific park,
you can do some serious hiking, or just go on a lark,
spend a day on the beach, weather permitting,
or go camp out in winter, better bring you knitting.

Trails abound, and the 'residents' are simply fantastic,
Hollie would take their picture and keep them in plastic,
there is wildlife, and BIRDS, too numerous to mention,
but if you visit here, they will get your attention.

Baie Comeau....

...Quebec, we're on the north shore of the St. Lawrence river,
I'll bet in winter when it gets cold, you'd be sure to shiver;
paper mills and a part of the massive Quebec Hydro are here,
which provide the jobs, that makes the locals cheer.

Come up and see this huge piece of land,
it's wild yet controlled, and it's good to beat the band,
Canada is the second largest Country in the world,
and every time I look at the photos my mind is whirled.

Sunrise on the Gulf of St. Lawrence

...Quebec, sort of in a spot here, trying to decide...
..just where to get a boat to the other side,
we can go from here, a distance of 50-100 miles,
that would be quite a ride, it would produce a lot of smiles.

Or we could wait awhile, another day or so,
c'mon you old geezer, when will we go?
Let's go tomorrow to Baie Comeau, the time is right,
we could get on the ferry, and sleep while we cross at night.

When the board walks are covered...

...Quebec, we can't pass up a second day,
there's too much here, so what do you say?
Cross county skis, but not for me,
a snowmobile can take me to what I want to see.

But whatever season your visit might be,
you won't be disappointed by what you see,
this park is magnificent, yes that's the phrase;
come up and see it one of these days.
