Johnson City

....Tennessee, the city on the go,
with a great University, for people on the know;
this is the right place for retirees, I am told,
of course I wouldn't know anything about growing old.

This is a "small town", with the big city feel,
which I guess is what holds great appeal;
it's a good place to visit, or maybe even live,
there's a lot here and nearby that has a lot to give.

Knoxville...

....Tennessee, this is one busy place too,
there's so much to see, and way too much to do,
it's close to Dollywood and the now famous Pigeon Forge,
but we stayed right here, close to the lodge.

It's home to many things, so it never bothers,
to announce it's home to Don and Phil, the Everly Brothers.
Home to the University of Tennessee, and hosted a Worlds Fair,
and home to the TVA, and HGTV - an interesting pair.

Clarksville....

.....Tennessee, and we didn't take the last train,
nearby Fort Campbell, Kentucky, we'll explain,
is mostly in Tenneesse and provides the most...
...income in Clarksville, which is a great host.

There are other things that may interest you,
if, you like history, this is a place for you to do;
and the natural surroundings are simply top notch,
there are places Mother Nature did not blotch.

Murfreesboro...

....Tenneesse, is one nice place,
it's downhill to the river, which goes by in a race,
there are hill and valleys too,
a great place to visit, they'll welcome you.

It's a working place, with a growth rate going wild,
listed by Money as a great place to raise a child;
since we're having none of that,
maybe it's okay, if you just have a cat!

McMinnville....

it's the real deal, Middle Tennessee is the place to be.
It's another small town, but they're all special to me,
there's the Cumberland Caverns nearby that we will see.

There is a walkway on the outskirts of town,
that runs a good distance, it didn't let us down,
it's quite a hike with chances to stop, or even to fish,
on the Tennessee River, it puts a lot on your dish.

Chattanooga....

....Tennessee,  the city with a choo choo,
and there's a whole lotta stuff to do,
go to Lookout Mountain and take in the view,
or watch the Lookouts play baseball just for you.

You can tour on a steam boat, or simply take a walk,
of course there are parks or places to sit a talk;
I don't understand why Chattanooga's not talked too much about,
so I'll just do it now, give the place a shout!

Jackson....

.....Tennessee, the home of Casey Jones, is waiting to be seen,
it's there to be enjoyed or worked, on life it's really keen;
there is a long history for us to learn about,
and some quiet fishing streams, with some nice trout.

Also the home of Carl Perkins, with the Blue Suede Shoes,
and the Rock-a-billy Hall of Fame, what is there to lose?
There's baseball in the summer, when the teams in town,
the Diamond Jaxx is the team, they're good all around.

Dyersburg...

...Tennessee, in the western part of the state,
near the "Big Muddy", small town, that's great!
It's a busy place, there's a lot going on,
while right on the outskirts, farmers grow corn.

This isn't very far from Cairo where we were yesterday,
but the attitude has changed in nearly every way;
of course we stopped at the lake and took a dip,
nice lake with cool water, this really is quite a trip.
